Practice Management & Interim Management Services

The services offerings are available separately or combined into a comprehensive interim management service. The services are designed to enhance a health care organization’s profitability and efficiency and are tailored to each business. For over twenty years these services have been for many practices and facilities in most specialties including medical practices within academic medical centers, hospitals, private practice and not-for profit primary care centers. The services will be performed and or supervised by George V. Marino CPA.

Accounts Receivable Analysis:

Examines collections policy and procedures, reviews insurance claims by age, payer and physician, develops fee schedules, analyzes E & M coding.

Corporate Compliance:

Detects and prevents potential violations related to medical practice fraud and abuse. Also, provides initial risk assessment, compliance plan development and implementation.

CFO Services/Director of Finance or Operations:

Performing necessary on-site accounting, financial and operational services on an interim or part-time basis.

Embezzlement Review:

Determines whether adequate controls are in place to protect your practice from
Embezzlement. Reviews accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll processing.

Managed Care Issues:

Guides healthcare organization through managed care issues-health plan operating issues, utilization management, and negotiation strategies.

Steers physicians through the process of merging practices, structuring the transaction, compensation analysis, tax planning, and implementation.

Monthly Practice Monitoring:

Systematically reviews key areas of a medical practice such as billing and collection, finances and accounting, compensation and overhead, profit or service center cost and profit analysis to name a few.

Physician Compensation Planning:

Develops fair and equitable compensation formulas for a practice. Considers various ways to divide income including fixed salary, production based with evenly divided overhead, base salary plus incentive, RVU based system.

Practice Assessments:

Comprehensive assessment of a medical practice, comparison to standards, review of finances and operations, policies and procedures, overhead and billing system review plus more.

Practice Valuations:

Determines fair market value of a medical practice or healthcare facility. Valuations are performed for mergers and acquisitions, various tax purposes, divorces, buy/sell agreements and estate values.

Stark Compensation Valuation:

Is the hospital or medical school remitting a fair market value compensation for services rendered? Without a documented fair market valuation by an independent appraiser. The institution and the physicians may have a potential Stark violation which could cause monetary and other damages.

Revenue and Profitability Analysis:

Analyzes critical financial aspects of a medical practice and implements solutions.

Strategic Planning:

Identifies both internal and external issues affecting the operation and financial future of a medical practice or healthcare facility. Develops strategic plan of action to address these issues and promote a competitive advantage
